Mission Trip 2018

This summer I went on my third mission trip with my church to Broad Street Ministry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. We spent time at an AIDS clinic called Fight, learned about the MOVE bombing, helped out at a farm, worked at a free day care, and ate a meal at a soup kitchen. We learned about the power of acknowledging everyone's stories and not being afraid to stand up for what we believe in. The most powerful part of the week to me was sharing a meal with people who came to eat at Breaking Bread, the soup kitchen at Broad Street Ministry. It showed me the importance of a good meal, and to many of the people there it was their only meal of the day. I enjoyed talking to people and learning their stories. Can't wait for October for the 5th annual meal making event!
