Rise Against Hunger (RAH) strives to make a global impact on hunger by building resilience, self-sufficiency and empowerment among the communities they work in and with. At the first ever Sarah Stops Hunger event, with Feeding Children Everywhere, 160 volunteers made 17,568 meals in 1½ hours. At the second  Sarah Stops Hunger event, over 200 volunteers made over 27,000 meals. At the third, fourth, and fifth SSH events we made 12,000 meals each. All of these meals helped fill food pantries and were given out at schools in Connecticut. The most recent four events have been with RAH and have each been over 10,000 meals for disaster relief and long term malnutrition relief around the world. Overall, Sarah Stops Hunger has raised over $30,000 to make meals.

A quote that really sums up how extremely fortunate we are is from Mustafah Ahmed "We may complain that we are hungry while sitting in a cafe but somewhere a young boy says he's hungry too, except he hasn't eaten in days". This quote emphasizes how so many are hungry yet few people think about it as much as they should. There is so much that needs to be changed, and with RAH, change only costs 29¢. 1 in 8 people in the world are hungry. If a child goes to bed hungry because their family cannot afford dinner and then wakes up hungry because of the same reason, at school all they can think about is the lunch that they might get, not about their education. RAH is working to provide meals for people all around the world, when their meal goes to schools, it provides an incentive for parents to send their kids to school. By providing meals you are helping give kids education and nourishment. Every donation goes an extremely long way.
