Sarah Stops Hunger is run through Rise Against Hunger an organization who "distributes food and life-changing aid to the world’s most vulnerable, mobilizing the necessary resources to end hunger by 2030". We believe that if something is wrong, you shouldn't just wait for someone else to do something- you should do it yourself. We took this ideology into effect and began hosting annual, then bi-annual, meal making events to help aid in the global movement of ending world hunger. At our first event in 2014 we packaged 17,000 meals with $4,000. From there we were mobilized by support from the community and in 2015 we packaged over 27,000 meals with just over $6,600. In 2016 we were able to do two meal making events because of support from Keller Williams and made over 24,000 meals. Following this format, we made 20,400 meals in 2017. In 2018 we made over 20,000 meals, and thus far in 2019 we have made over 11,000 meals.

We were inspired by  one main person and from an experience. The person is Gandhi, who famously said "Be the change that you wish to see in the world". This quote inspired me to take action based on a problem that I saw and wanted to act upon, and see the change. The experience was when we went to a local Lions Club hosted Feeding Children Everywhere event and was amazed at how much good one person can do. On the day I went to the Lions Club event, my mom encouraged me to go despite some protest, and I ended up having an amazing time. I found the experience so amazing that I wanted to host an event myself. This is the ripple effect of change, so that someone will be inspired by my story like I was from someone else's story. If that happens, the chain reaction of inspiration will further the incredible effect that we are having on the world.
